CHENG Yan-Qiu's playing style was recognized as CHENG Style. His voice was narrow and muffled when he was in his teen. He wasn’t born with his good talent in opera role playing so his success attributed to his consistent hard working. Most of his plays were about tragedies and the roles he played were sorrowful. He devoted himself to conclude performance experience and train opera players. He’s the first one who tried to use violin as an accompany instrument.
